Puttaparthy is the home and the headquarters of the acclaimed spiritual Guru, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Surrounded by an arid landscape, the small town located in Andhra Pradesh is visited by millions of devotees who have enormous faith in his blessings and powers. Born in 1926 as Satyanarayan Raju, Sri Sathya Sai Baba is believed to be the incarnation of a famous 20th century saint, Sai Baba from Shirdi in Maharashtra. Prasanthi Nilayam or the Abode of Highest Peace is the ashram complex where Sri Sathya Sai Baba resides. Built in 1950, the ashram has several guesthouses, dormitories, kitchens and dining halls. Over the years, the area around the complex also got a facelift with the establishment of schools, colleges and hospitals, turning a sleepy village into a modern township.
Sathya Sai Baba is a highly revered spiritual leader and world teacher, whose life and message are inspiring millions of people throughout the world to turn God-ward and to lead more purposeful and moral lives. His timeless and universal teachings, along with the manner in which he leads his own life, are attracting seekers of Truth from all the religions of the world. Yet, he is not seeking to start a new religion. Nor does he wish to direct followers to any particular religion. Rather, he urges us to continue to follow the religion of our choice and/or upbringing. This tour takes you to Puttaparthy which is the place where the 'Baba' has its Ashram. We also take you to some important tourist destinations around like Bangalore and Mysore.
